Celeb-Runner: Elizabeth Hasselbeck

We’re heading into the long, hot Labor Day weekend and somewhere out there, Elizabeth Hasselbeck is running. 

 

You know who I’m talking about, right?  The Conservative One on ABC’s “The View.”  Also the beautiful, healthy-looking 31 year old mother of two small children and wife of NFL player, Tim Hasselbeck.  The picture here shows here as she participating in the Revlon Run/Walk for Women in New York City. The 5k event was to raise money to help fight cancer in women.  She wore a “In Support of Mom” sign pinned on her back.  Hasselbeck’s own mother battled breast cancer in the past.

 

And after two kids, Hasselbeck has had a few battles of her own, with her self image she says.

 

“Body image has nothing to do with scale “Go Elizabeth!”numbers, it’s how you feel inside,” Hasselbeck, told Fitness magazine. “This is the first time I’ve felt free from that, because I am working out in a way where I feel so strong that there’s no room for those doubts.”

She adds: “I finally told myself … ‘I’ve got some curves, I’ve got a bubble butt, but I don’t mind, because it’s what powers me forward when I run.’

It’s said she once ran a marathon with only a week or two’s notice.  Wow, that’s an Iron Woman.  But spending her time these days working with Babs, Joy, Whoopie, and Sherri plus starring down Rosie and Star in the past, yeah, you’d kind of guess she has some steel in there somewhere, right?

And leading the way in a race for healthy self-esteem among women is something all of us can be behind.  “GO ELIZABETH!!!”
